When vessel pressure falls below the permitted limit, the valve opens automatically to admit air. As the pressure recovers to the allowable range, the valve closes to protect the equipment and system.
Suitable for equipment such as absorption towers, distillation towers and storage tanks where steam condensation after cleaning may create vacuum. The installed valve provides an air-admission path to help prevent excessive negative pressure.
